I grew up in Lexington, MA, which may explain in part my interest in colonial history. I retired a few years ago after 20 years as a computer programmer. I generally photograph colonial cemeteries or at least the oldest sections of them. I studied early New England history in the 90s. My cousins got me interested in genealogy a few years back. I've always loved photography. |
I would like to thank everyone who has offered corrections and additions as any new information makes the memorials that much better. I always want more info.
Please, when offering corrections or additions, include the memorial number as I have created thousands.
And look at the rules set down by Find a Grave before asking for transfers.
Don't fuss about spellings. One person wants the modern version, another person wants an older versions. I can't please everyone.
I usually do all requests within 24 hours.
Feel free to use any of my photos. All I ask is that you credit me for taking them. Please email me if you're doing some for-profit thing. And do not post my photos from other websites to Find-a-Grave. Ask me to do it. Thanks!

There is a bit of confusion about this person ... there is actually a duplicate memorial except that the cemeteries are different along with other minor items.
You have the original memorial.
Memorial #57904897 has her last name spelled Shute which added to the confusion.
Her maiden name is Hannah Emery and she married Samuel Chase on 8 Dec 1713 and then she married John Chute on 30 Oct 1762
The dates of birth are also different ... from what I have been able to dig up in my family tree, she was born either 1686 or 1692.
Her parents are: John Emery (1656 - 1730)
Mary Sawyer Emery (1660 - 1699)
I hope you can figure it out and decide what to do because it has given me a headache. ha ha. Thanks for your help.

Memorial #19529714 - Samuel Manning (d.1711). He was my 7th Great Grandfather. You have a lovely headstone picture on this memorial. I am wondering if you would give me permission to use it on both my Ancestry.com profile for Samuel, and also on my personal genealogy website noted in my profile. Thank you for consideration.

Thank you for your educational reply. Your memorials have been very helpful as I make links to our Ancestry research. Presently I am following the family of Edith "Ednah" Halstead ( my husband's 8th great-grandmother) and her husband Ezekiel Northend.

Just wanted to thank you so much for all your hard work. Coming from Michigan in November to visit this and another cemetery with my 89 year old father-in-law to show him his first family members that came over from England, thanks to your hard work.

Asking about Sgt. Thomas Richardson's wife Mary Stimpson. First, thank you for posting the headstone photo for Sgt. Thomas Richardson. By any chance is his wife Mary beside him? If so could a photo be added to her Memorial #53716544?
Sgt. Thomas Richardson's Memorial is - Old South Burying Ground
Thanking you in advance for your response, Sandy
