The Thomaston-Upson Archives opened in April of 1996 with the help and funding of the Upson Historical Society, City of Thomaston, the County of Upson and the Thomaston-Upson Board of Education. The Thomaston Upson Archives preserves local government records, dating back to 1824, as well as recorded history and family genealogies by housing them in a secure and climate-controlled building. Public holdings, of the Archives, are open to the public during regular operating hours of Monday – Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The Thomaston Upson Archives is housed in the former R. E. Lee Institute High School library, named the George A. Harrison Memorial Library.

It is our hope, in the realm of findagrave, to place the memorials we create in the caring hands of those who would like to continue the memory of the loved and lost.

For the immediate future, Sandra Padgett ([email protected]) will be handling edits and additions to existing memorials. Please continue to send edits thru same channels; however, please send other suggestions to the new e-mail. Requests will be handled as soon as possible.
