Bio

I have lived my entire life in the metropolitan Quad Cities area of Illinois and Iowa near the Mississippi River. I retired in 2012 so now I am working on my family history and trying to build memorials and connect family members in area cemeteries.

I am most intent on getting as many of my family members from my family tree added and connected then add as many as possible buried in local cemeteries starting with Hampton Township Cemetery and Zion Lutheran up on the hill then the other Hampton Township cemeteries; Homeland, Bowlesburg and Carbon Cliff, then on to other local Illinois Quad City cemeteries.

I'm not interested in building an empire of memorials for the sheer sake of numbers as some people seem to be, as I'm much more lax over turning them over to any family member or even close friend. If they are your relative or friend and not mine then just ask, and they are yours.

Also keep in mind, if I cannot contact you then don't ask me to do anything for you. Either have your messages enabled or an e-mail available, no exceptions. It is so frustrating when I have a question about an edit and I can't contact the person who sent it.

And please don't contact me and tell me I can't post obits because someone has said they have a copyright, they don't. When I post an obit I try to always note the paper it came from. Also, please do not contact me and tell me to remove census records from the memorial as that is the history of their life and no matter how "unappealing" it looks to some people, as long as it is under my management, it will remain.

I have spent many hours going thru every name in both the Biographical Record of Rock Island County, 1897 and the Portrait and Biographical Album of Rock Island County, 1885 to find matching memorials already in Find A Grave and when found these are added or sent to the owner of the memorial in hopes they will add the information to their memorial to not only give information on their lives but to assist other people in helping connect or create memorials.

My great-niece AJ has been helping me on this, especially taking all the headstone photos for me.

Primary Family lines of interest:
Kruse/Erickson/Rood/Sedam
Keag/Johnston/Ward/Edwards/Wells

Secondary Family lines of interest:
Roth/Hennel/Becker/Bushnell
Evans/Bettis/Starcevic/Trizulny

Cemeteries:
Hampton Township Cemetery, Hampton, IL and other 3 Hampton township cemeteries in Silvis, Barstow and Carbon Cliff, IL
Zion Lutheran, rural East Moline, IL
Riverside Cemetery, Moline, IL

I post my photos on FAG to share & help others with piecing together their own family trees. I am also not possessive of my photos & share them unconditionally, with everyone.
