She took many photos of headstones in Southwestern Lower Michigan. She liked to take photos of the area where the interment is to give the viewer a little better sense of the tranquility of the cemetery. She was a member of Friends of Silverbrook, the city owned cemetery here in Niles, MI. They do restoration work on many of the headstones at the cemetery. Family lineage is through George Steel(e) who settled in Bedford County, PA. That lineage is George, Philip, George, George, Moses, Charles Edward and Paul Victor Steele. Janet's family moved to Holmes Co, Ohio and Moses and many family members migrated to St. Joseph Co, Indiana where most of the family have stayed in the general area. I have 3 grown children, 4 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.
