I am originally from Lake Charles, LA, now living in Port Neches, TX. I have been active in genealogy since 1984; when I had to go to the library to do research on microfilm! Lucky for me, my French-Acadian (Cajun) family has been in South and Southwest Louisiana since the 1760s and Fr. Donald Hebert's compiled research has been a Godsend. Then with PC software Family Tree Maker, I started inputting my ancestors information on my computer. It has come a long way since then. I can't wait to see how it continues to improve in the future.
