Bio

I have been doing ancestral research for about 50 years. By being involved in searching records and information, I have made many new friends (fellow researchers) and met family members who have become personal friends. This is a great (and addictive) hobby that has opened the lives of my antecedents and their migration across North America from the European Continent for me. Just finding names is not the goal for me. I want to know how they made their living, what the times were like, and just get to know the individuals as personally as I can. By combining history, country, and economics, it is easier to create an interesting even though incomplete tapestry of the journey of one's life. Sometimes I only have a name, but I never stop seeking a clue here and there. Sometimes my efforts are rewarded but more often, the secrets are still floating in the hazy gauze of time.

I am a retired executive and newspaper correspondent retiring from director of a senior citizens center. I retired from the American Red Cross working in health, safety, service to military families, and disaster as volunteer, paid staff, instructor and instructor trainer.

The pictures that I take for Find A Grave may be used in your research and transferred at will. I hope that they help you in your endeavors.

Most all photos I take in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton, Texas will have life dates, burial date, and location of grave if you click on the pictures.
