Bio

______________________________
I have lived in Honea Path, SC, all of my life. I want to help people connect with their pasts while I learn about mine. All grave pictures that I post are my own work. You have my permission to use any of them in your own private records. I put a lot of time and effort into them, please do not use them anywhere else without asking first.
______________________________
I haven't added many memorials, but I welcome corrections and additional information for the ones that I have. Please use the edit tab to submit any corrections. I can also be reached by e-mail or through facebook. Both links are in my FAG profile.
______________________________
I photographed all marked graves in the Honea Path City Cemetery in the spring of 2013. It is beside the Presbyterian Church and is often mistaken for their cemetery, so it is alternately listed as Honea Path Presbyterian Church Cemetery on FAG.
______________________________
Names in my Paternal line: Green, Simpson, Chastain, West, Freeman, Elrod, Whitlock. Because of two earlier family trees I have lots of info about my paternal line. I have only had to bring them up to date and fill in some missing details.
______________________________
Names in my Maternal line: Grace, Hurt, Bales, Twiley/Twilley
On the other hand, my maternal line has a lot of blanks in it. My maternal grandfather passed away when I was 11 months old and my maternal grandmother passed away when I was 10 years old. I have a few names from what my mother remembers, but there very large gaps as well. I have filled in some blanks because of FAG.
______________________________
I came to FAG because, like so many others, I lost someone close to me. Please visit my dear cousin Kristie. We were only 17 months apart and she was one of my best friends growing up. I could always count on her to tell me the truth. We drifted in and out of touch in adulthood, but I always knew where she was and I know that I could have called her any time day or night and she would have been at my side.
______________________________
On September 6, 2012, some dear friends of ours lost their 16-year-old son to a blood clotting disorder. Ben Jordan was a seemingly healthy teenager who played football and was a boy scout. He was posthumously awarded the rank of Eagle Scout by the BSA Blue Ridge Council and Troop 5 in Honea Path. Please visit Ben's memorial and show him some love.
______________________________
My second cousin Bonnie Brazeal Suell compiled one of the family trees that has been my most treasured resource. She did genealogy the old-fashioned way. She spent countless hours traveling to libraries and courthouses to sift through microfiche and microfilm. She compiled and typed "Our Green Family," an almost 100 page document with over 700 direct descendants of William Green. I have since added almost 1,000 additional names along with countless details to what she started. Please visit and leave her a token of appreciation for her tireless work on "Our Green Family".
