Information - where it belongs...

Biographical information belongs in the "bio" field or in other text fields on the MAIN memorial page.

Please do NOT post pictures of text to any of my memorial pages (Example: Do NOT post pictures of; obituaries, death notices, newspaper articles, death certificates, birth certificates, marriage licenses, remembrance cards, etc.).

Also, do NOT post biographical information in the Flowers section. This too, belongs in the appropriate text fields on the main memorial page.

Instead of posting a photo of text, please forward the information using the "Suggest Edits" tab. I'll ensure it is added to the memorial page in a prompt, accurate and professional manner.

Do NOT post non-photograph graphics to the photo section (such as military emblems, membership emblems, flags, candles, etc).

Transfers...

Transfer requests should be per findagrave.com guidelines. This does NOT include your next-door neighbor, ex-girlfriend or roommate, nor does it include your BFF.

"The goal at Find A Grave should NOT be to manage all of your family members. If you have information to add, you should suggest it to the current manager and they should make the changes."

My Photos...

Please respect my copyrighted photographs. Do not alter my photographs and re-post them. They are for your personal use in an unaltered state only. Do NOT attempt to sell them, or otherwise profit from their use without written permission...

For example: Do NOT charge your relatives a "handling fee" or "re-imbursement fee" or "printing fee" to obtain a copy of your family tree if it contains one of my photographs.

About me...

I graduated from Freeport Area High School, PA in 1971 and spent the next year at a technical college in Columbus, OH.

I received my physical notice from the draft board in the spring of 1972 and in August that year I followed in my father's footsteps, joining the US Navy [he put in 24 years before retiring as a Master Chief Communications Technician (CTCM) in July of 1969].

I spent 8 years as a submarine qualified nuclear electrician on both Fast Attack and Ballistic Missile Submarines. In October 1980 I was honorably discharged as an EM1(SS) - Electrician's Mate First Class Submarine Service.

I spent the next 28 years working in the civilian nuclear power industry in Ohio and Illinois. Most of that time in the training department as a Senior Reactor Operator License Training Instructor for both Initial Training and Continued Training students.

I retired in August of 2008 after 36 years working in the nuclear power field. My wife retired from the medical field in August 2015.

Currently, we are both still retired and live in north-central Illinois, within 2 miles of the intersection of I-80 and I-55.

We spent the last several winters camping in Mesa, Arizona. We plan to continue snow-birding in the southwest, in our 5th-wheel camper. I haven't shoveled snow in 8 winters; YAHOO!

I enjoy researching my family tree. My father's family is from Allegheny and Armstrong counties in western Pennsylvania. My mother's family is from Charles County, in southern Maryland.

My family tree has limbs, branches, and roots that stretch across the United States. Most however, settled in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and even California.

I enjoy taking cemetery, historical site, and other photographs. I am willing to assist with reasonable gravesite and non-gravesite photo requests; I may also consider some unreasonable photo requests.

Have another great day,
jer
