Born and raised in Stockton Springs, Maine. After Vietnam Era service as a Funeral Detail Bugler and bandsman I was a Congressional Investigator for a time, then went to Alaska where I was engaged in law enforcement in Pt. Barrow and later Kaktovik - on the edge of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. I later homesteaded a beautiful lakefront place, did other work and retired back in Stockton.

I presently work for my brother at Smiths Memorials in Searsport. I'm in the Waldo and Hancock County cemeteries daily in both my job and now as a volunteer photographer for Find A Grave. It's a great combination.
