A ninth generation American, I've always found cemeteries interesting, peaceful and relaxing. Please notify me if I've made a mistake on any memorials I post. No one is perfect, least of all me. I will not respond to rude and disrespectful demands. If I have a photo of a headstone that is better than the one already posted, I will post my photo. I do not post to "build my numbers". I will not revisit cemeteries and retake photos that have my shadow on them. |
I am a Find a Grave volunteer because I enjoy visiting cemeteries recording the history of those who have gone before us so as to be of a benefit of those who cannot visit the cemeteries in person to pay their respects. Be nice.
Have a great day!

There are two photos missing from the posting. Were those two stones missing or were they not readable? Thanks.

Hi Ron - Are you in touch with your cousin Loretta Darlington Brown? I graduated with her in WC. At some point I ran a double tree for Iva and Loretta Darlington to fine where they connect. Their 3x grandfathers were brothers. Now Iva and Loretta keep in touch with each other. If you send me an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org I will give you Loretta's contact in Florida. Hope that all is well with you and Bill. It nice to hear from you. Jean
|barbara dupree||RE: Mozell Barrow|
Earnest Grover Barrow was my Father's half brother. His mother was Annie Barrow Jones. Father is unknown. She is buried next to him at the church. His Brother Robert Barrow is buried there also. Earnest had two sisters Mary and louise. His half brothers were Jack James Jones. David Willie Jones and Harding Wilson Jones and one half sister Mattie Wilson Jones. My Grandmother and Earnest died within days of each other and had a double funeral. After Earnest death Geneva Mozelle remarried to a Grover C. Jones. Her parents where Leroy Sumner and Mono Owens. She divorced him and married a Albert Sechrist man later divorced him and married a Ishmael Locke man and it looks like she was still married to him when she died. She was born in North Carolina around Burlington and when she died in 2005 she was still a locke and her grave is there. She is not buried at the grave on hwy 58 at Bethany Church. Sorry for some of the misspellings don't have my notes in front of me. She was born in 1914 in North Carolina. When she died she was about 91 years old and she couldn't have had any Aunts listed living as stated. I wasn't trying to be ugly about the info, it's just that isn't the right Mozell and it just needs to be removed. Thanks so much for responding.

Hi, just wanted to let you know that the Mozell Barrow you have listed married to Earnest Barrow is incorrect. Earnest Barrow is my uncle and he died and Mozell remarried 3 more times and when she died in 2005 her last name was Locke and she is buried in north Carolina. Please correct. I feel that you would want to record correct info. Thank you!

Re: FERGUS and SMITH listings
Would you be willing to transfer the following ancestors of mine, if they are not related to you?
James FERGUS # 77179915
John D. Smith # 77180247
Eliza A. Fergus Smith # 77180058
I want to thank you for contributing! I too am a contributor, # 77179915.
And, I want to apologize as I listed James FERGUS # 104345608 when you already had him listed. Apparently, I did not look at the FERGUS listings to see that you had listed him. I will eliminate my double listing, but you have information that I do not have about his port of entry. I had thought that I checked the New York listing, so I will look further to have my source correct.
Again, thanks a bunch!
|Dean Lynch||Incorrect date|
Just an FYI:
The entry for Peter Robinson in St George's chapel has an incorrect death month of May when it's actually June. It's clear on the picture of the stone. I'm trying to figure out if he was married to Maggie P Marvel. I assume so, but can't prove he was the Peter Robinson.
BTW If you're in Sussex and looking for a challenge. There's an overgrown cemetary in the middle of Chapel Green off Conley's Chapel road. The information is available here, but there aren't any pictures.
|Theresa Ely||RE: Mary Davidson|
Ron, you are very welcome. I know the stone has not been engraved with the date of Mary's death yet. I made a note and will check back this Spring when I plan on photographing that section. I will then change out the current photo to update her Memorial pg.
|Robert Steen||Sarah McIlvain Hill|
I just put in a couple of edits for Sarah's memorial. Sarah is my 5th great Aunt. I got the information for these edits from a genealogy The McIlvains, A Delaware Branch compiled by Donald Lee McIlvain, Jr and published in 1999. It gives her date/place of birth/death and her middle name.

Walter, Thanks so much for adding the information in his bio section. Thanks again for adding the memorial so very much appreciated.
|JT Swisher||Grandfather George Darlington|
Hi Ronnie -
I ran across your post on 1804-1888 George Darlington's Bradford Friends site. Can you give me an overview of how the Tipton's and Darlington's connect?
Hope that all is well with you and Bill. Jean Swisher
