I'm a 76 year old native Iowan born, raised, and schooled in Des Moines, Iowa. I served in the United States Navy 1965-1968 stationed in country in the Vietnam War. I have volunteered in the past at the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs where I did Military Genealogies for the Department since Iowa had some 76,534 men who all served in the American Civil War more than any other state per-capita. Iowa just became a state in 1846. I have since 1996 been working on the Booton/Booten/Hill/Arrowood/Arwood/Little military genealogy trying to find all in the family on both my paternal and maternal sides who have served this great nation in the US Armed Forces. I have served as the Veterans of Foreign Wars State of Iowa Senior Vice Commander 2009-2010 and I'm a Lifetime member of VFW, AMVETS, DAV, PVA Associate Members, and I'm now with Patriot Outreach 'Victory Over Stress'.
