Despite all their best intentions, the majority of other online sources that I've seen are unfortunately fraught with misinformation on headstone cleaning. I recommend folks visit the Cemetery Preservation section in the discussion forums here. Plenty of good and sound advice there on how - or IF - to clean up a gravesite before photographing; and important info on how (and how not!) to highlight those faded, worn old inscriptions.
