Bio

The time for me to pass the torch of volunteering is here. I have loved my work with FAG and hope that someday someone will be looking for an ancestor and be able to find them because of what I have done. I wish you all the best and I thank Ancestry for keeping this site free for all to use.

Oh my YES, if you would like to manage any of the memorials, please ask!! I enter them for their mark on the world. Everyone needs to be remembered!!!
If I have not responded to your request, please ask again. Somehow, I missed it.

Obituarys (Bio's) and additional information is always welcome.

Taphophilia: an abnormal love for graves and cemeteries. The love of walking cemeteries and finding lost relatives and the gravesites of ancestors.

THE STORY TELLERS
We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors.
To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow, they know and approve.
Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before.
We are the story tellers of the tribe.

~ DEAR ANCESTOR ~
Your tombstone stands among the rest,
neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marble stone.

It reaches out to all who care;
it is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist;
you died, and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you,
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
so long ago
Spreads out among the ones you left,
who would have loved you so.

I wonder how you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

THIS TOUCHES ME SO HARD BECAUSE MY G'MA WAS BORN IN 1863, MY FATHER IN 1899 AND MYSELF IN 1949. I'M SURE SHE NEVER GAVE A THOUGHT OF ME.
