I am respectfully requesting a transfer of this memorial 59617965 to me, as this is my grandmothers cousin by marriage. . I am working very diligently on the hall family which Shirley's mother was a hall just like my gramma's mother.

Best regards,

I accepted the three edits you sent me but I would like for you to look at Nancy Gibbons memorial now. I just posted the picture of her stone and her son and daughter-in-law put Nancy I. Gibbons on it. I guess there is no way to know if that is for her middle name or her maiden name.

William Spencer Byard
Memorial #37368290
I sent you a message on 8/21/2017 about the three memorials established for William Spencer Byard. Since then I have done some additional research and have concluded that you have him correctly buried in Glover Cemetery - Glover's Gap

I would like to share my research with you and give you and opportunity to give input. Do you have an email address where I can communicate this to you? If so, let me know at

RE: William Spencer Byard
Thanks for your reply. My first inclination was to select the Glovers Gap Cemetery since that where his wife is listed, but I can't find any documentation to support that either.

I have put in a photo request and explained about the three places he may be. I'll keep you posted.

William Spencer Byard
I have uncovered a mystery for William Spencer Byard. There are 3 Find A Grave Memorials for him and each has him in a different Cemetery.

#36111807 By Cat Crowder: Buried in Glover Cemetery, Hundred, Wetzel County

#37368290 by you: Buried in Glover Cemetery (Glovers Gap), Marion County

#8231695 by Marigay: Buried in Glover Cemetery (Four States), Marion County

His obituary says he died in Glovers Gap which I believe is in Marion County (And is really Glover Gap) and his funeral was at the Baptist Church in Glovers Gap. The obituary just says he was buried in the Glovers Gap Cemetery.

There are lots of Glover Cemeteries in Find-a-Grave - 3 in Marion County and 2 in Wetzel. There is little by way of description as to specific location for the ones in Marion County. Is it possible that they are, in fact, one and the same?

Do you have any info that led you to believe this William Spencer Byard was buried in the Glover Cemetery (Glovers Gap).

WSB is my 3d great uncle; however I am not looking to have his memorial transferred to me.

RE: Adam Tennant
Thank you for your quick response. I did not catch the different cemeteries and have no idea why that happened. I do believe they are the same person, but I think you are correct that it might be best not to merge them unless we can find out why the other memorial listed him as being in a different cemetery. This has happened before, if the death certificate names one cemetery, but for whatever reason, the family changed their minds and buried that person somewhere else. It could also just be a mistake or an assumption made by the person who created that other memorial. I am working on that family tree on Geni, but have no further info to provide. I believe you have the correct cemetery, since the headstones match. I come across a lot of duplicate memorials, so it won't hurt to leave it as is for now.

Milton A. Walton
Could you e-mail me about Milton A. Walton (#161110862)? I'm researching William Karl Walton and I believe Milton was his father, Mary A. Moore his mother and Anna Walton Sinsel his sister.

Thanks, Jeff

RE: Pearl Viola Lewis Kidwell
I'm just now starting my Find A Grave journey and am so grateful for the transfer.
Pearl was my maternal ggrandmother. You may want to contact me regarding your Lewis family. Pearl's family tree was researched and published in 1958 in the book "The Baylis Family of Virginia." It was privately published but I have a copy. It follows ten generations of William Baylis from England. Pearl is generation 7. I'm generation 10, also in the book:) When I joined the DAR I used Pearl's line for my patriot.
My pictures of Pearl and Grover's graves aren't that good. I will retake and post after my next trip to Winchester/Front Royal. If you want to pass your email to me in the very least I can send you a copy of Grover and Pearl's obits. Lots of info about the two in those. Thank you again for the transfer...
