Lieutenant Colonel Gregory Davis retired from the United States Army on 7 DEC 2014 after serving 34 years.

LTC Davis began his military career on active duty in 1974, as a Private serving as a Military Policeman for the US Forces Police Station, the 94th Military Police Battalion, in Kaiserslautern Germany. He later joined the Pennsylvania Army National Guard as an enlisted Military Policeman in the 28th Military Police Company in Johnstown, PA. He received his commission as a Second Lieutenant from the Officer Candidate School in 1987. LTC Davis served as a Military Police Platoon leader in the 28th Military Police Company, later served as a Detachment Commander in Greensburg, PA and then assigned as Company Commander of the 28th Military Police Company in Johnstown, PA in 1989. After his tenure as Company Commander, LTC Davis was trained and assigned as Intelligence Officer with the 628th Military Intelligence Battalion in Harrisburg, PA in 1997. He was appointed as the Deputy Provost Marshal in 1999 for the 28th Infantry Division and then appointed as the Provost Marshal for the same unit in May 2004. He was selected and appointed as the first Chief of Protection for the 28th ID in 2009. On his third and final combat tour, LTC Davis served as the Executive Officer for the 55th Military Engagement Team from May 2011- September 2012.

LTC Davis’s duty previous assignments were throughout the United States, in Germany, Panama, Lithuania, Bosnia, Egypt, Iraq, South Korea and most recently Kuwait.

LTC Davis has retired from his civilian employment is with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Police Patrol Lieutenant for Indiana University of PA Police Department and has served there from 1979 until 2011.

LTC Davis was born in Punxsutawney, Pa. He graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1974 and Indiana University of PA in 1985, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology. LTC Davis is a graduate of the Military Police Officer Basic Course, Military Police Officer Advanced Course, Military Intelligence Officer Advanced Course, Counter Intelligence Special Agent Course, Combined Arms Staff School and the Command and General Staff College.
