Thank you for the biography. If you are a family member I would be happy to transfer the memorial.

Goedert family
I was wondering where you got the picture of the Goedert family? I have put on some pictures for Jim Goedert of his immediate famiy. We were surprised when we saw the pictures so far back. Thanks

Wow! Great research

Thank you for the very thorough biography of Latvian Adina Kalnins Jordans and her family. This answers some questions for me about why my own Latvian great-grandparents were wandering from city to city in the 1920's. Two of my grandfather's siblings died abroad of TB. I knew there must have been some reason why they had left Latvia during those years. Maybe some people were also involved fighting in the Latvian fight for independence or the Red vs. White armies of Russia?

Most likely it must have been food shortages, like with this family from the same period.

I believe my great-grandparents would have been buried in this ancient cemetery also. But it looks like the memorials there are remade ones. Are many from the 1800's still there or legible?

From the very clear biography it seems like you must have been someone closely related to this family and rebuilding a legible memorial to them in the cemetery and online.

Thank you for the history lesson!

Best wishes,

Janine, American who had Latvian refugee father and grandparents from Riga

Happy to amend bio of Thelma. Thank you for the correction. She was the 2nd wife of my grandfather, and my mother remembers her very fondly. She met a sad end after a divorce from my grandfather, and I've wondered why he didn't tell my mother of her stepmother's death. I was unable to trace Thelma's burial place. Although I did find a clipping that said her mother united her and her father (all three) at the same burial spot in NM. I'd love to know where. If you are on Ancestry, I have quite a bit of information about her there.

Yes, always a challenge when seeing conflicting info on various source documents. (Lots of those in my frustrating.). Good luck with your continued search!

I found her husband and did the link to him. I tried to link his first wife but you have an edit sent for him. Was it for Loralie or Clara?

Also - she appears on the 1900 United States Federal Census as Loralie Eby with her BROTHER Loraine - I made this part of her bio.
