Bio

I maintain memorials mostly for relatives, plus a few others.

After mentioning places in bios, I sometimes add decimal coordinates in parentheses, like this (61.74739 9.26042). These coordinates can be pasted into many geographic web sites to see the location (mapper.acme.com, maps.google.com, Google earth, but unfortunately the excellent Norwegian map site kart.finn.no doesn't accept decimal coordinates). Different sites don't quite agree on locations, so I go by Acme mapper.

I have two virtual cemeteries of people from the Fron parishes (Nord-Fron and Sør-Fron), Oppland County, Norway, in the historical region of Gudbrandsdalen, who are buried in the US. One has information added from the Fron church records and the other has no info added. Fron church records go back to 1799. People in Norway transcribed the Fron church records from 1799 through 1900 into a series of Excel files. These files are my source of the information. If you know of a person from Fron, you may ask me for a look-up.

Another of my projects is doing look-ups in "Compendium of History and Biography of Central and Northern Minnesota" (Chicago, Geo. A. Ogle & Co., 1904).
