Bio

As of 8/20/2018 I am taking an extended time out from any Find a Grave work. My mobility is now so limited I can't really walk and photograph in cemeteries. Here is what I will or will not do
1. I will try to process computerized edits put through but I may not be able to process items submitted through the "suggest a change" link. I may transfer the page to you, to do with as you wish.
2. I am suspending work on Lakeview Cemetery in Windom, the last cemetery in the county that our little group hasn't completed.
3. I will add more information here as insight emerges.

POLICIES
1. Edits and other changes.
I am usually delighted to process your edits or suggested corrections. However I will neither do your data entry nor edit your spelling and punctuation. If information can be entered in specific fields, you will need to do that through the new edit system and I will accept or decline it. Other suggested changes such as biographies or requests for transfers will be honored via the "Suggest any other correction or addition" which sends me an Email with a link to the page and to you. I might fact check your information through resources available to me.
2. Transfers
I will transfer any memorial I have created on request except those for
a. my own ancestors or in my virtual cemeteries.
b. Nor will I transfer to anyone who is listed as "Anonymous" and has a blank profile. It is difficult to trust someone who is so concealed.
c. Nor will I transfer to the terminally rude unless you document the four generation proximity of relationship required by the FAQ.
3. Photos
I give explicit permission to copy and use any photo I have taken and posted on Find a Grave for your own genealogical purposes. No need to ask.

I am a retired Episcopal priest who has done genealogical work for her own family since 1990. I used to serve as a Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness volunteer for Cottonwood County before that site closed. This was easy to do, as I live within a mile of the Courthouse and Historical Society. You can contact the Historical Society at [email protected]. They charge $10. per hour plus copying for research.

I am nearly done doing whole small cemeteries in Cottonwood County, Minnesota. The five of us working on that have finished all but the Windom cemetery, Lakeview. If I have been able to post a photo on the front page of a cemetery in CC you will find my status notes in the caption. [Feb 2013] Working on Mountain Lake from photos & register and Lakeview from a list. I am also working on comprehensive postings for columbaria in Minnesota Episcopal churches.

My daughter thought graving was a waste of time but I pointed out that it gets me out for a walk up and down "rows" in the cemetery. And a friend of hers pointed out that considering all the recent zombie movies it's good to remember this: It is far better to be looking for dead people than to have dead people looking for you! Enjoy!
