Bio

Grandma Mac (Elizabeth Ella Kellogg MacFaddin) was the genealogist of the family. She got the "bug" from her father. She kept all her research in an old black suitcase. There were notes on all sorts of scraps of paper – the back of a grocery list, used envelopes and even a bank statement here and there. Her handwriting was neat and dainty. She would come down from Fresno and Daddy would drive her in to the Los Angeles Main Library to spend all day there working on her research. When she passed away in 1970 the suitcase was put away, until my sister took up the task in 1999, of sorting through all of Grandma's bits and bobs of information.

I personally had no interest in genealogy. That is until 2008 when quite by accident, I found my Dad's name in another family tree - where he didn't belong. So it's not my fault that I've become obsessed with the family history. I have a need to connect the dots.

Back to Grandma Mac, wouldn't she just have a field day with all the information that is at our fingertips today? Many thanks go out to all the volunteers through the various groups, like Find A Grave that give their time to help put the family puzzles together.

Names I am researching: MacFaddin/McFaddin or McFadden, Boynton, Breed, Caldow, Clark, Cody, Higgins, Hiscock, Houghton, Kellogg, Rathermel, Sairs, Schuck and Wilder.
