I began researching my family ancestry on my father's side several years ago. Kath and Murk are the ancestors I am specifically looking for. In looking for information I learned about Find a Grave. This eventually led me to volunteer by visiting cemeteries and photographing headstones and adding the photos and / or information on FAG website.

I think it is a wonderful tribute to our ancestors to memorialize them on this site for generations to come. It also allows those who live to far or are unable to any longer visit the cemetery to be able to have a virtual visit or to leave a message on their loved ones page. So many headstones have deteriorated over the years and these photos will forever be there to view.

I am more than happy to take a request to visit a cemetery in Central Jersey to photograph a headstone for anyone who asks. Having the location in the cemetery is quite helpful.

I am also more than happy to transfer any memorial to a family member upon request.
