I love people, my family and all critters big and small, with the exception of snakes....I have fostered many litters of kittens and a few birds until they are ready to fly on their own. Raising stray kittens is something I can do from my home and brings me great pleasure. I also love history, thus my enjoyment of family history.

Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out,
On marbled polished stone.
It reaches out to all who care,
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist,
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you,
In flesh and blood and bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse,
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled,
One hundred years ago.

I've had an interest in genealogy ever since my father and I were researching his grandfathers Civil War records during the 1970's. His paternal grandfather was Amos Barbee Comer. His maternal grandfather was David Stephen Barrett, who was held captive in the infamous Andersonville Prison in Georgia. Since then this field of research has become easier with introduction to digital records, as well as the recent addition of the 1950 Census. My mother was first born American on both sides of her parents, Catherine Ward, of Glasgow, Scotland, and Leo Fridlin, of Mulhouse, Alsace Lorraine. You can follow their stories going backward from my parents:
