Bio

My family spent many Sunday afternoons visiting our family cemeteries. We would stroll together, sometimes three or four generations at a time, gently touching the stones, whispering greetings, shedding a tear or two, always careful of our steps, sharing memories and legends, passing the stories down from one generation to the next. I always felt like I knew everyone in those cemeteries even though thay had passed away decades, even centuries, before my birth. As children, we would stand before the stone of an ancestor and carefully recite everything we had been told, to the knowing nods or corrections of our elders. I cherish the memories of those Sundays in my adult life. My family no longer lives close enough to each other to stroll through those cemeteries. Find A Grave has allowed me to create virtual family cemeteries that my family can stroll through at any time without the limitations of time or distance. We can't touch the stones or hear the wind in the pines, but we can still whisper a greeting, shed a tear, and remember.
I will gladly edit or transfer any of the memorials that I have submitted that are not in my direct line.
