When I became a member it seemed that being a photo volunteer was a natural fit for me. I still believe that but I'm afraid that I'm not much use to anyone during Winter. The snow drifts are formidable on the northern plains. I guess I have two seasons in my year, Winter and Cemetery Searching.
These past several years, while hunting up the graves of my own antecedents, I've been impressed with the beauty of the stones and the various expessions of grief and love exhibited in the cemeteries. Once I acquired a digital camera I began saving images of those.
One thing I've learned-for photographing tombstones a cloudy day works better. And I guess you could say it adds to the mood as well.
