Walks with my Dad through Lakeview, Seattle's historic cemetery, first piqued my interest. Seeing familiar place names of tombstones made me want to learn more about the pioneers.
I had a similar experience, first describing British Columbia history to visitors, then stumbling upon then-dilapidated Ross Bay, the who's who burial ground of B.C. pioneers in Victoria. Thankfully, a wide range of local activists helped save and revitalize this beautiful historic green space.
I became one of the very early contributors to Find-A-Grave. seeking out and adding Pacific Northwest luminaries to the resource. Since then, others have added to profiles I created. Together, we make this historic database stronger and more useful.
For the past several years I have been in well-explored Southern California.
