|Angela Reiniche||Melvin E. Baughn|
Greetings to you. My name is Angela Reiniche and I am a PhD student in history at the University of New Mexico. I am working on a project for the National Park Service that involves researching the lives of "lesser-known" individuals connected to the National Trails, such as the Pony Express. Melvin E. Baughn, is one of my subjects. A search on Find-a-Grave suggests that you might have some additional information available. If this is the case, would you be willing to share that with me?
In particular, I am having difficulty locating information about Mr. Baughn beyond the information about his hanging and his work with the Pony Express. It may be because the name given to me was “Melville” rather than Melvin. Any biographical information or photographs would be helpful and I will be happy to share my “vignette” with you once it is approved by the NPS and the National Pony Express Association.
|Anne Philbrick||Arline Baughan|
Thank you for the suggested edits for Arline. She was a native of Illinois. Her middle initial was E and her maiden name Haake. Her father was Ferdinand Haake, her mother's first husband. Her stepfather was Henry Kuch, her mother's second husband. Take care, Anne.

I've deleted it.

Hi Chris & Sally,
I called the Eaton Township for a burial location at Butternut Ridge Cemetery and they have no record of burial for her there.
Please see Memorial #140340977 for a duplicate memorial. Her obituary states Lay Cemetery aka Butternut Ridge. I hope you will consider removing your photo request for Dorothy Baughn in Butternut Ridge Cemetery Lorain County, OH

Do not know how much you have on the Baughn but we have collected a lot. Johnnie H Baughn Holcomb was my great aunt as well as my grandmother's sister

Ruddles, my Jacob was gone almost 15 years and it really was George that helped get them released. No kidding, that I got from a history book. I would have to find it around here to quote.
I just found it and, it is called Ruddell's and Marti's Forts. Very old and it does not have the year it was published but it was by the Ruddles & Martin's Stations Historical Association. Anyway, t is nice to meet you.
|Linda J. Morris||What I forgot|
I know everyone has Felte Valentine but his name on sips records, land records and ect was Volentine. But there are a few of them in the family and the rest used Valentine. I even found one buried in Kansas of all places.
|Linda J. Morris||Volentine Gile/Coil|
Well I got the name right out there. lol I have the will he left a bunch of little things. To be honest, I am 72 and I am just about done with this. Wish I had started on the Coil family sooner. I come from Volentne-Jacob Coil 1768-Jacob Coil Jr. 1768-John Andrew Coil- Elizabeth Coil m. Michael Berger-Mary Berger 1795...from there it i just a mess because she married twice and her two sets of children spent the next 150 years marrying back and forth. Not in my paticular line tho. Anyway, what year was your Geroge born? The Coil famiy also kept naming the kids the same from generation to generation.
I am going to put up a new tree before long and just wanted you to know that I have Voentine's will. Or a copy I should say. I also have Gabriel, Jacob, and Gabriel's son, Andrew, their REV WAR records. Their brother George was in the Indian Wars of 1754 along with them but I have never found where he would have been in the Rev War. The family, Parents and 6 children came from a Palantate of what would become Germany in 1850. They arrived on 15 Sept 1749 on the "Edingburg" out of Rotterdam and one 22 Aug 1764 he became a citizen. Both in Phildelphia. On 11 Oct 1765 he was in Augusta, Virginia and wrote his will on that date. He died on 19 August 1767 and the will was proven" on that date. The ships log has their name as Gile, but he changed it to Coil, his boys went to Kile and I THINK everyone is using Coil. Not sure at all. The will was in German and someone gave us the English version. Jacob and Geroge were taken by the Indians at a place called Ruddle's Station/Fort and taken to Canada along with others. George Washington himself signed some kind of agrement with them and they were eventually returned. You can look it all up on the internet. Anyway, I did not want to keep this all to myself. I never intended to. let me hear from you please. Oh, Jacob's children, some used Coil and some used Coile.
|Linda J. Morris||Hello|
My name is Linda and I am from the same Coil family. Gabriel had younger siblings, George,Martin, Jacob, Barbary and Elizabeth. I am from Jacob. Gabe, Jacob, and Gabe's son Andrew allservedin the Rev.War together. They were the sons of Felte Volentine Geil/Kile. Kile and Coile seemed to be the spellings they all used most. I WOULD LOVE TO SHARE AND TO GET INFORMATION. I have a copy of Felte's will and some other information. Please contact me.
|Ralph the Cemetery Guy||RE: EM2 Norvel Wilbert Baughn|
I only photographed his name on the Tablets to the Missing. I do not manage the record. It appears "CWGC/ABMC" does. Contact them, it is a simple edit record entry that you can do yourself.
