I was born at an early age in Frankford, MO, at home, with two lower front teeth.

Began growing up in Clarksville, MO, continue that process in rural Boone County, MO,seven miles west of Columbia, on the Rocheport rural mail route.

Graduated from University of Missouri School of Journalism in 1960, worked a couple of years at the Louisiana, MO, Press Journal, then spent almost 40 years at Shelter Insurance's home office in Columbia. Retired as Director of Communications in 2002.

Fascinated with local history, and Boone County has a lot to offer. I just started the Midway Historical Society to study the past of this unincorporated village four miles west of Columbia. Midway also is the Home Port of the international Perche Creek Yacht Club, an informal social club of which I am Commodore. We have members in all 50 states, 23 foreign countries and all seven continents. . .all without a purpose.
