You do know what a lot of people are doing. They are getting batch lists from cemeteries and creating pages on your site. If someone was using your app (android or iphone) I would be able to see peoples headstones. If I am wrong, then why am I getting pages like this all the time...

Find A Grave Memorial# 151798154
|Sharon ||Robert Hooper Stevenson|
Dear Russ, I found a service photograph of Gen. Stevenson and posted it on his Find A Grave memorial page. I hope you don't mind. In addition, I think you should link him to his parents, so he can be listed with his siblings who are on their memorials. His father's Find A Grave memorial is #120755401 and his mother's is #120i755188. Thanks for all you do.

|WiSH||Same Cemeteries, Different Names duplicates on findagrave|
I am new to Find A Grave, but have encountered a problem and I don't known who to turn to. It involves a name change and now both the new and old names are listed separately as two different cemeteries on Findagrave.
Dade Memorial Park (North and South, etc) in Miami-Dade County, Florida were Miami Institutions for decades. Fairly recently they have been sold and, keeping with the more Cuban heritages down here are now named: Caballero Rivero Dade Cemeteries (North, South,etc.). You can tell from the addresses and the photos, they are one in the same.
Can the be merged back into one?

|RAP||Now she is spitefully de-linking parents, children, siblings and spouses|
She had agreed to stop doing this, but is now still doing it, unlinking several generations of people, deleting their memorials and reposting their names with abbreviations, things like that. These people are 75-200 years dead. Leanna Bogley Snyder was just deleted, and then she reposted her as Leanna B. Snyder, and deleted the transcript of a news article. I got this from a man on ancestry several days ago that had the same related family, "earlmaurer Apr 25, 2017 Hi, I don't know "Dech" or their reasoning. It is strange! Good hunting, Earl" So now I am not sure if the person is who she says she is because now yesterday, she told me she got got divorced, remarried, disabled all her emails and was going on vacation with her new husband, she is nearly 70, for a few weeks, until end of May. And she didn't tell me but she changed her userid to "Dech M." So yeah, I thought I knew who this person was and have been corresponding for years, but now I'm not sure, and one person at the Cemetery where many of these are happening told me not to respond to her, because she likes attention. I've been doing genealogical research for over 45 years, and I've never encountered this bizarre behavior that can wreck and destroy years of research, wiped out quickly. Luckily, I don't use only FindAGrave so have backups, but my wife and I decided to try ignore it and move on, but it is hurting research for others, and I don't have time to keep reposting and reconnecting people. Unfortunately, this lady owns and manages about 1500 memorials. I only have less than 300 I manage, and stick to only those I'm related to in some way. So if you have any advice as to how to handle situations like this, I am all ears, because it is upsetting to be on a public service site with the goal to help and share with others, when you encounter a person who wants to obscure and hide information and try to keep it private by misleading and partial information, when they know full names and places. She will sometimes change things, adding the full information, and then will go back unbeknownst, and change it back to partial info or delete the person, and then not use the full name. She speaks in the name of privacy in behalf of people dead in two cases I am think now dead for 100 a d the other 134 years, whom she never knew nor met. And I asked her, what is someone in George Washington's line insisted everyone keep his information private, and not show his tombstone, where does this end? Of course, she had no answer to that inquiry. I am done with this foolishness, but some kind of gentle warning should perhaps be given by FindAGrave in this regard. I have to just let it go as best I can, and try to move on. Thanks for all your tips...Best regards.

|RAP||Deliberately Posting Wrong Dates and Places|
How do I deal with a member that deliberately posts false information about her family, including places she knows, the birthdates being off by several days, months, and years. Also she knows the full name of the person but posts abbreviations. On top of all that she won't make any corrections, or makes them and then changes them again.
This is a real disservice to members who are trying to do honest research. She also clogs up all the free pictures with grainy and unreadable photos so no one else can post a photo of the person.
Her message board is disabled, and I have an email, but she doesn't respond to anything.

|VCifuni||Deletion of old approved/denied updates|
Russ - I checked the FAQs but didn't find this subject addressed. Once one of my requested corrections to a grave record has been completed (either approved or denied), how long does it take for the request to be removed/archived from my EDIT lists? Or is this something I can remove myself once the request is complete?
I hope you are the right person to address this question to.
Thanks, Val Cifuni

|Dr. Patricia Burke||Kitty Wilson from P Burke|
I offered an edit a few years ago thru Hargis, it was there for several years. When I looked at the site this past winter, someone had taken a photo of the “deceased”’s memorial but my edit/story was gone . I contacted Hargis again, no reply. Contacted DJveah1 in January - no response . I was notified a repeat message to Hargis was received, but again, no response. I contacted you, but not on the public forum, and I have emailed Katrina twice, although I can’t tell if the email works or not . I believe it was you, and Katrina that I heard from ( I did lose some emails ) but both replies either off mark ( “I don’t know how we memorialize a pet”) and/ or - I will pass on to so and so . I have noticed one change, the least necessary, one place Dorothy and Alton are no longer listed as Kitty’s parents
Here a version of the letter I have sent now - 7-8 times.
I am a “member” of find a grave - I would love to take pictures but the few times I have tried, the “maps “ of the cemetery are not specific enough - it will be a large area and I can’t find the name listed.
I am writting about The Wilson trio in Parksley Cemetery, Accomack county, Virginia. I went to show "my cousin's grave" to someone, The last time I has checked, there was no grave stone shown, but her name was listed, “ Kitty Wilson” 1954-55 Parents Dorothy and Alton Wilson - which if one looks at their birth and dates of death - were too old to be natural parents .
I sent an edit several years to Mr. Hargis, and was posted on the web site-- for years -it’s now gone! But there is a photo now of the headstone “Our Kitty” .
My mother, Pearl Cropper Burke, was buried there in 1962, near her father who died early 1950s. The rest of my immediate family will be buried with spouses elsewhere. I am planning to be cremated; I thought I’d have my ashes interred and a stone, next to my mother - so she “wouldn’t be alone “. Maybe 10 years ago now, I started trying to find out how to prove I had a right to be buried there- it was not easy. My mother’s sister said - who’s going to complain? Anyway- I tracked down the owners of the cemetery they checked old books and confirmed. (In Virginia you purchase the right to be buried in private cemetery, they still own the land ). In the 1920s my great-grandfather John (and Polly) Savage ( Called Ma and Pa by their children and grandchildren) bought/got the rights to four noncontiguous plots which hold 6-8 each in Parksley Cemetery. After my mother died, and we moved back east from NM, I spent 5 summers with my grandmother. We often visited her brother-in-law Alton ( a doll) and her sister “Rotha” ( how they pronounced Dorothea - where Dorothy, which is on her stone, came from -no idea ).She was the family’s cat lover -and- kind of a nut. She only had one cat at a time,all very spoiled. The one she had which I knew, was miserable and unaffectionate. As her great niece, a cat owner AND veterinarian, I can say that .
My cousin and I would often accompany my grandmother to the cemetery to cut the grass and visit. At least once, during each visit, my grandmother, Daisy (Savage Cropper), would stop, put her hands on her hips and stare further into the cemetery and say, in an inimitable Eastern Shore accent : “ I don’t believe that fool Rotha, spent 700 hundred dollars, for a zinc lined baby casket, and buried a damn cat up there with “ Ma and Pa” .
‘OUR KITTY’, was, their kitty. This also explains Birth: Feb., 1954 Death Sep. 15, 1955 -- no exact date of birth.
Family links listed: Parents:
Alton Minos Wilson (1896 - 1964) Dorothy S. Savage Wilson (1897 - 1975) in their day they were owners, now “pet parents” Alton’s date of death is wrong too but I cant find the right date, might have been 74
I doubt my Uncle Alton would be pleased he is listed as one of her parents, but I bet my Aunt Rotha would be thrilled.

The listing has been there for years and years. I though my original edit was well before 2015. The photo is more recent. The only reason I can think they only show Kitty’ s is thinking it’s a child,
