Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love preserving the stories, documents and photos of my ancestors and kin. It has been exciting to know that at findagrave I can make virtual family groups and pedigrees with memorials linked together. Family history is a LOT of work but it is fun and rewarding.

FAMILY SEARCH

It seems that my ancestors
Gone on before
Want me to remember
That they're something more--

Than names on a tombstone,
In census, or book.
They want me to know them,
They want me to look.

RE: Hiram Spencer Photo
I'm sorry about the missing digit. I am glad you found the correct memorial. Both of the Hiram's have interesting stories as do Orson and Catherine. So we are cousin's of some kind. I descend from Daniel Spencer, 4gg, is as follows:
Hiram Spencer, 3rd Great Grandfather
Jane Amanda Spencer Cahoon, 2nd Great Grandmother
Theron Cahoon, Great Grandfather
Stanley I. Cahoon, Grandfather
Patsy Cahoon Davis, Mother

We have a brick wall at Rich's great grandfather, William T. Cox, also. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1822 and moved to West Virginia about 1859. In actuality WV was still Virginia when he moved there. So you and Rich may have a connection back in Pennsylvania.

Hiram Spencer Photo
Hi Susan,

The picture is of Hiram Theron Spencer (1835-1931. His Memorial Number is #6596531.

The Hiram Spencer who died in 1846 is my 3rd Great Grandfather through his daughter, Jane Amanda Spencer, who married Daniel Stiles Cahoon in Nauvoo. Are you related to the Spencers yourself?

My husband is the Cox and his ancestors came from Pennsylvania to West Virginia.

Hiram Spencer
Hello,

I am writing concerning the memorial for Hiram Spencer, Memorial #8251391. The picture you have on your memorial is actually a picture of his son, Hiram Theron Spencer. I do not what your relationship is but Hiram is my 3rd great grandfather through his daughter, Jane. Hiram died before photography became widely used and, to my knowledge, there is no actual image available of the father.

Thank you,

Leslie Davis Cox

RE: Thanks for letting me know where Harold Burton Ray is buried
You are welcome. I enjoy connecting families on here. I was hoping to hear from you and was waiting to create and connect a memorial for his mother who is buried in Jerome, Iowa with other family members. I also enjoy seeing pictures of the loved ones on here so I wanted to mention merging the memorials.

Peter Spencer memorials
I ran across a memorial for Peter Spencer that didn't have Danial Spencer as a son and when I went to add Daniel there was a different father Peter for Daniel. Anyway it is memorial #45609056 and I am certain they represent the same person. Yours is much more complete.
