Bio

I was born in New York and have lived in the UK for 45 years.

I am interested in the descendants of John Jamieson (born in Perthshire, Scotland, sometimes in the early 1700s) who came to Prince Edward Island, Canada (then St. John's Island) on board the Falmouth in 1770, sailing from Greenock, Scotland with his wife (name possibly Elizabeth Lowrey), his daughters Jean (b. about 1750) and Catherine (b. 1755; d. 14 May 1837) and son Alexander (b. after 1755; d. 11 April 1771 of drowning in PEI).

Frederick Duncan Berkeley II was my father (1901-1962); Frederick Duncan Burke I (changed to Berkeley) was my grandfather (b. 1868; d. 1940); William Milligan Burke (b. 1853; d. 1902 was my great-grandfather; Edmund (Edward) Burke (b. 1791; d. 1866) was my great-great grandfather; and William Burke (b. 1738; d. 1810) was my great-great-great grandfather.

John Jamieson was my great-great-great-great grandfather.

I am particularly interested in finding out information about the wife of John Jamieson, William Burke (b. 1738; d. 1810) and where he was from in Ireland.

I am also interested in the Somers from Halifax, Nova Scotia originally from Ireland), the Gumb family (originally from Devon and/or Cornwall), and the Oram family (originally from Devon and/or Cornwall. The Gumbs and Orams settled in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

I am also interested in the Tatum family who came to North Carolina originally from Yorkshire (and were "...followers of the Earl of Granville...") and the branch that settled in Kentucky.

Additionally, the Hundley family who settled in Kentucky; Hayes; and Edwards (my great-grand mother was Maude Edwards; possibly from Wales).

I am particulary interested in America L Hundley (b. 1828; later Ewing, later Keyes) and Rachel Silver Hundley (b. about 1788; married William Hundley in 1805) - she was America Hundley's mother.

If you are researching any of these families, I look forward to hearing from you!
