Bio

I joined FAG April 7, 2002.

When I create a memorial I try to include parents and spouse if I can locate them. I also include an obituary if possible. I spend hours trying to find the memorials of their relatives for each memorial I have added to FAG.

I transfer the memorials I have created to a relative of the deceased when possible. Others I transfer to two FAG friends and the others to FAG. There is no need to hang on to memorials we have created.

I was born on a Sunday, November 3, 1946 to Eugene Henry Cross and Lillie Leona Ogle Cross. Went to school for 10 1/2 years at Boaz, Alabama schools and finished my last 1 1/2 years at Sardis High School which is only about 4 or 5 miles from Boaz. Then went to Gadsden State Junior College at Gadsden, Alabama Fall of 1965 until I joined the Navy July 11, 1967. Did four years in the Navy and served aboard the USS Massey DD778. Came back home to Alabama and worked various jobs until February 13,1979 at which time I joined the US Army. Retired May 31, 1995 as a Sergeant First Class/E-7. Am now living again at Boaz, Alabama. My claim to fame is falling over Noccallula Falls in Gadsden, Alabama May 7, 1961 when I was 14. The falls is a 90 foot drop. It broke my nose and bruised me up pretty much but was able to be in school after missing only one day.

I enjoy visiting different cemeteries when I have a chance. There is a lot of history recorded in each cemetery. I sometimes list people here at Find a Grave, also when I have a chance. I think people need to be listed so people know that this or that person spent time here on earth. If I happen to list a relative of yours and you want to add to it or don't want it listed at Find a Grave, please email me and let me know. Thanks for your understanding.
