I began working on the genealogy of my Templeton and Baker families in 1980. My dad was born in Silver Valley, Coleman County, Texas, where his parents, grandparents, and great grandmother lived for many years between 1873 until about 1939. I always loved to hear the stories Daddy and his mother and sisters told about living there in those times.

Many of those relatives are buried at Mt. View Cemetery near Silver Valley. In 2005, a Cemetery Association for Mt. View was created and I have been president of that association since that time. My first task was to use Ralph Terry's information to verify the marked (and some now-unmarked graves), then enter those on Find-a-Grave. Between my efforts and those of Mr. Terry, the records are kept up-to-date within days of a burial there.

September 2023 - My mother's maiden name is "Reece/Reese" and after 35+ years of research, she has turned over her research to me on the Reeces and her associated families, primarily Couch and Wideman. The search goes on. Mother is 99 years and 8 months old as of this writing and holding strong!
