Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Los Angeles but lived most of my life in San Francisco. I will always remember those who influenced my life... but especially my dear friends who live on in spirit. I want to make sure they will never be forgotten or their lives taken for granted.

I am a veteran. I volunteered with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. As an illustrator, I created orientations and briefings with the 62nd Military Airlift Wing (MAC), where I was also a member of the base Honor Guard. I later worked on military training films with the Aerospace Audiovisual Service (MAC). I'm proud to have served.

I am a direct descendant of William Sprague who came to America in 1629 aboard the ship "Lyon's Whelp". Two of my direct ancestors were Revolutionary War heroes. Another fought in the Civil War and was wounded in the battle at Stone's River in Tennessee. Further back I am directly descended from King Louis VII, Henry I, II and III and Saint Margaret among others. These people led extraordinary lives and inspire me every day.

I am honored to have written the biographies for the following famous people here on findagrave... Muhammad Ali, Tyrone Power, Irene Dunne, Janet Gaynor, Erich Von Stroheim, Helmut Newton, David Brian, Charles Ives, Ernest Tidyman, Eugen Sandow, Maestro Lorin Maazel, Martinus Sieveking, Samuel H. Kress, Bronislaw Kaper, Albert Frey, Fontella Bass, Maestro Kurt Masur, and Clifton A. Sprague, among others.

RE: Your aunt and uncle
Dear Christian,
Thank you for your kind note. I also grew up in the Bay Area, graduating from high school in 1969. I have always felt that veterans and those who served in other ways before, during and in between the wars should be remembered and honored. My dad was a WWII Veteran and he never spoke about the war much; he was shot down near Borneo and was one of two survivors. My mom told me once that he had nightmares {she was mean about it, which upset me}. Nowadays, we call it PTSD. I just felt that your aunt and uncle shouldn't have ads around their memorials, feel that way about many of the people I've found on this site. It's not that much and, if I get that "feeling" after reading a memorial I sponsor it as a way of honoring the person, be they a veteran, a pioneer, etc. Thank you for writing such touching memorials for your cousin, aunt and uncle. I love the photos, too. Always had a soft spot for sailors - both of my stepbrothers served in the Navy. I used to write a sailor stationed off the coast of Vietnam. Before that, I wrote to a GI who was recovering at Oak Knoll hospital in Oakland, CA. They both visited me after they were discharged.

Elias Sprague
I finally had time to go thru all of my Cemetery Books today & I DO NOT find any listing for an Elias Sprague.....These books only list the graves that have tombstones. So, that does not mean he isn't buried around here. I have all the books for Coshocton Co. that they have made & they only have one more to do....I have some for Guernsey, Muskingum and Tuscarawas Counties, too, so I have looked thru all of them..... Sorry.

RE: Elias Sprague
I'll look thru all the books I have for my County & see if I can find anything else. I have all the books for every township except the last one that they are still working on. They sure help when I go out to find the tombstones....I have been out "tombstoning" for 2 days straight & I have to stay home today to get all the photos I took labeled & entered on F-A-G !!!! My dad's sister married a Sprague & her husb.'s dad is buried in Plainfield Cem. (Ira Clifton Sprague)....I remember him and they always called him Cliff. Would you, Please, send me the Dates for Elias, again, so I will have the correct info ?? Thanks.

RE: Samuel Kress
Christian you are so right, Mr. Kress and his contributions should not be forgotten. His bio is so interesting. I am sure his collection at the museum was wonderful to see.

Going to his store in downtown Lubbock was like a wonderland to me as a child (oh, the dreams of children)…

You have written bios/memorials too of some of my favorite “movie stars”, ie: Irene Dunne. They don’t make “stars” today like they did in the “old days”.

Thanks again for all your wonderful memorials.

Kress Building - Lubbock Texas
I enjoyed reading your bio of Mr. Kress. I admire him also. I shopped often at the Kress 5 & 10 store when I was very young. The beautiful building still stands in Lubbock to this day.

Thanks, Barbara

RE: South Lawn, Coshocton
We were so fortunate as to connect with those we know in the state to photograph the gravesite, etc. I have even been in contact with Catholic and Protestant clergy to bless the grave and others nearby. Thank you always for your work for all ancestors and deceased loved ones. Happy holidays.

RE: Denny Miller
Okay, I see that now on IMDB. I based my findings on Wikipedia (which i shouldn't...), but now I feel comfortable knowing I didn't post false info about his death.

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.
