For years my Dad took care of assigning the graves at St Peter's cemetery in Gentilly MN. He loved doing the research on the older family names and he also did extensive measurements of the cemetery plots, trying to locate some of the original graves from back in the 1890's that are no longer marked. He gathered information on the very early burials by looking in the books at the Polk County courthouse and at the Crookston Diocese records office.
