A Southern Family Tree is not a tree but a beautiful Wisteria Vine with many branches going everywhere and a lost root!|
NSDAR 1988 Patriots: Rev. Lewis Cookson Davis, John Anderson, Charles Heard, William Hay, Lt. Willis Pope, Nathaniel Jones,John Stovall, Absalom Davis and Owen Griffin. Only one has a known grave site so the rest do not have memorials on FAG. (Update Nov 2015: found that other members are now making unknown burials of these patriots meeting their genealogy storage goal and not FAG's goal of recording graves sites)
Colonial Dames of XVIIC 2009 Colonial Ancestor: Bartholomew Stovall, NC
Amelia Island Genealogical Society~ Corresponding Secretary 2004-2005 and Past Nassau County, FL Genealogical Website Committee member.
Published in the Quarterly magazines of the Southern Genealogical Exchange and Amelia Island Genealogical Society articles on my family and various others of North FL lines.
6th Generation Floridian: Ancestor Florida Pioneer Abner Sweat and son Samuel.
To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....
First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. Do not request relationship edits to a BU as it will be refused. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.
Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".
If you are seeking transfer to "have all your family together" ~ use the virtual cemetery button. Then all of the memorials will be in the same "cemetery", and you can look at them daily.
Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.
You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.
Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.
Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.
Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!

Hi linda, I am very interested in St. Peter's Cemetery in Fernandina. My family "Miller" are buried there. One beautiful memorial is for John Butler Hall who died in 1905. I have tried everything I know to find out how he died and what he did in Fernandina. You I believe know alot of History about Fernandina. How would I find out about this person. I would love to write a book about him. I would also love to know the history of the beautiful Mahoney Angel that is in that cemetery. When my little brother died 40 years ago that angel was a great comfort to my parents. Any ideas how I can find out about the angel? Thanks Julie

I am helping relatives on my husband side of the family. Rev Thomas Thomas Walter Jones 1831-1930 is his 2nd great grandfather buried at Friendship in Dallas AL. William is also buried there and I am trying to figure out how they are related. Could you help me?

I did read it backwards, then thought she had lived 46 years past him probably buried where her family was located. Her maiden name family. I sent a note to the maintainer of the memorial at Oak Hill and linked the white springs lady with Mr. Thompson. Take Care, Cat

Sorry just read the part that "you didn't write that" lol, glad someone found the marriage info anyway. I think the second part of that message should be left off, she wouldn't be Mrs. Cone she would be Mrs. Thompson if she didn't remarry, don't you agree? That's a bit confusing....
I wonder if maintainer would take that off or put the entire obit. Take Care, cat

There is only an empty space not an unmarked grave. Nothing to indicate anyone was buried there.
I looked up Find A Grave Josephine Cone since she was "Mrs. Jospehine Cone on obit you had listed and there is one listed in White Springs Fl, Hamilton Co. but that Mrs Cone died in 1933.
Sorry I couldn't find her. Cat
