My mother and grandparents have archived our family history for decades, but my journey began on Aug. 15, 2003. During a short genealogical tour, my parents located family names inscribed on a Civil War Monument, Church Stained Glass Windows, and several buildings, etc. We located the sites of various births, marriages, homes and churches. This piqued an interest as the long forgotten suddenly become very real to me. Most forged out lived during hard times and harsh conditions, and I began to appreciate their character. I wanted to know more! This has been rewarding and meaningful as I learned about the complexities that contribute to each person’s uniqueness. I also realized I am a product of my ancestor's past, and it has been an enlightening and rewarding journey.

Fortunately, I’ve been given many clues, as I’ve become the custodian of various family documents, original records and many many photos. These clues help to create a mosaic composite of our ancestor’s lives. Consequently, I’ve been scanning and digitally sharing this information with other family researchers.

I am currently researching our collective family lines: Easterday, Bitting, Buffenbarger, Cox, Eberhard, Franks, Bardonner, Dahling and Foelber.

PHOTOS: I have become the custodian of many family photos and artifacts, and I will gladly share digital copies upon request.
