Bio

Hi,

My name is Connie Canamar, I'm a Federal DVM for the Mexican Goverment and I live in Monterrey, Mexico.

I've been interested in my family's Geneology for as far as I can remember.

My quest began when I was quite young because I wanted to know where we came from, my paternal Grandfather was always telling us outrageous stories of his ancestors and how they came to what was in those days known to be "New Spain", to this day I have not been able to verify any of them but I have to say that the search has been a magical adventure into the depths of ancient peoples, religions, places and times long gone. To actually find a town with our Surname "Canamares" in Spain and the meaning of the name itself. It gives you a sense of belonging. It makes you feel like you are a part of something bigger than life itself.

If any one would like some help or photos of the Monterrey area and its' cementeries, inclusive documents or information that needs to be found in person so to speak, send me an e-mail and I'll be happy to help.

Monterrey is over 400 years old and has a rich history, and it keeps pretty good records with the help of the Ineternet, people can come together and help each other without leaving their livingrooms.

One day I hope to connect to someone who lives in Spain and can help research the part of my ancestry that can only be told by someone who lives in the Area. By the family history and stories that have been told from grandparents to children through out the ages.

It also helps that since these records are in Spanish I will gladly translate them for you, if need be. I've tried using the translators, but from Slovic to English/Spanish I've found some rather confusing translations so, I offer my help if need be.

I have found that sometimes the truth is much more interesting than the story we've been told.

If you wish to have the greatest adventure of your life, look no further than your own family. For if it's a Soul Mate you seek, just remember that the most important ones, are the ones you have closest and dearest, your family members. Especially your parents and siblings.

Happy hunting. :)
