I'm more than happy to search for headstones in Bishopwearmouth Cemetery, however please provide either the exact date, or month and year of death and/or the grave plot number, including the ward.

Hi Craigy,

You sent me a message for the correct cemetery. You sent to me that she is buried at St Michael's (now Sunderland Minster). Could you please send me the link so that I have her in the right cemetery.

Thank You
Donna

Hi, I have come across your entry whilst searching for info on William and Madeline, and had discovered his first wife Sarah. I believe too that Madeline was married and widowed before marrying William.

I was amazed to see the photos. Are they of William and Madeline? And some of their children? There seems to be writing on the group photo, but I couldn't work out what it was saying. Trying to work out names possibly, I wasn't sure I could find any of their children's names?

I would be grateful if you could confirm they are indeed photos of William, Madeline and family, and wonder if you can associate names with the individual children?

Thank you in anticipation, and best wishes,

Peter

That's fantastic, thank you so much, I never expected there to be a headstone and that looks like quite a posh one too. Something else to add to my tree. Your doing a brilliant job!
Thanks again

Thanks for trying. This may sound strange but even just seeing a grassy plot feels like an accomplishment. :)

RE: Martin
Hi Craig,
I've had a busy week at work so only now been able to sort through all my e-mails at home.
Thank you so much for taking the time to take the photos - brilliant to be able to see them. The weathering makes the writing very hard to read - were you able to make out much of it in person? Its a shame its broken in 3, but at least they didn't just chuck the stones away.
The interesting thing about John Martin is that Joyce Jennett Martin's mother isn't Janet Susannah Martin nee Griffiths, but Janet's younger sister Joyce Griffiths. John and Joyce have apparently married sometime between Janet's death in 1865 and the 1871 census, but I can't find a marriage for them...
Thanks again for taking the time to take these pics - its always much appreciated.
All the best
Wayne
