Find A Grave Memorial# 24599112 (managed by Paul Renfro #46825118)
Emmitt Hayes Westmoreland is the name on the grave, but the photo of the gravestone is for someone named Ernest H Westmoreland. Emmitt was never called Ernest. Could you remove the picture of the gravestone since it causes confusion? List below shows how he was listed in records.
1900 Census –Emmett 1910 Census- Emmett H 1920 Census- Emmett 1940 Census –Emmitt H
Marriage Index - E H CA Death Index - Emmett Hayes Westmoreland Findagrave -Emmett Hayes Westmoreland
ALSO: (managed by Paul Renfro #46825118) Find A Grave Memorial# 129383704 lists Velma Westmoreland Millsap – her first name is Zelma (her daughter is the one providing all this info)
ALSO: (managed by firstname.lastname@example.org but linked to yours)
Emmitt Hayes Westmoreland, Jr Find A Grave Memorial# 61350449 is listed under the wrong name. True he was the son of Emmitt Hayes above, but his name was Ernest Howard Westmoreland (sometime spelled Earnest) .
He used the initial EH on a lot of documents, but he is listed on the TX Death Index as "Westmoreland, Earnest Howard" who died 06-Jun-1985 Cherokee Co. He is also listed as Ernest/Earnest on his marriage records to:
1) Johnnie Barron 1906-1999 Marriage 13 Dec 1945 in Johnson, Texas, USA
2) Florence Lula Bird 1921-1995 Marriage 3 Jan 1982 in Cherokee, Texas, USA

I noticed that you have the memorial page for my uncle Larry Glynn Prince. Would you mind if I took it over so I can keep my families' memorials together? Thanks so much.
|dbc||John F. Williams - Oakland Cemetery|
Hi Paul, I was going through old obituaries yesterday and found the one for John F. Williams which you have placed on his memorial in Oakland Cemetery. I noticed a second memorial in Grove Hill and notified the owner of that memorial of the duplication based on the fact that your memorial was the first one. I just received an email from Tom White, owner of memorial # 140652865 for John F. Williams in Grove Hill Cemetery. Tom has furnished me a copy of Mr. Williams' death certificate which shows the place of burial as Oakland, but Oakland was scratched out and Grove Hill put in it's place. He has photographed the headstone of Mr. Williams in Grove Hill and his comment was "one memorial is based on an obituary while the other is based on walking the cemetery and photographing the actual headstone." Because he has the death certificate showing the new location of burial and took a photo of the actual headstone, I suppose your memorial should be deleted. Let me know what you think. Thanks! You are most welcome. It was a sad and helpless feeling looking over at the Oriskany on fire from the Constellation.
|James P. Harter||William Richard Clements|
Bill and I were in the same squadron, VAW-11, and I was on a detachment on the Constellation at the time of the fire on the Oriskany, which was in site of us. I saw Bill's name on the Travelling Vietnam Wall today in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

I have sent edits to you that I believe could use an explanation. There are three, side-by-side burials, photo of which I have included on these three memorials. Two of the three burial stones spell the last name as Byers - the parents and one of the two sons. The other son's burial stone spells his last name as Byars. What a mess this is!!!
I believe the memorials should reflect the last name shown on the burial stone, otherwise it may cause duplicate memorials to be created by other F.A.G. volunteers. I am considering creating memorials, using the Byars last name, that simply points searchers to your memorials, if they are looking for the name spelled Byars, but they would not include any pertinent information. Hopefully people would realize these are simply location pointers and NOT the official memorials. Of course, this would assume you would change your memorials to reflect the spelling on the burial stones.
Paul, I would most welcome your thoughts, on this matter, for consideration.
