Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am an eight generation South Carolinian and I love tracking my family history. I live in Loris SC but hometown is Conway SC where my daddy still lives.

I did not start my pursuit of my ancestors unfortunately until after my grandparents and my mother had passed away, now I have to rely on making trips to the area that they grew up in and are buried in. The families that I am interested in are Kyzer, Taylor, Gunter,Shumpert, Wright, Rodgers, Thomas and Ellis, all of these are from the Lexingon area and Newberry and Abbeville area.
I also do my husbands family which include, Andersons, Booth, Cartrettes, Fipps or Phipps, Fowlers and Sarvis.
In addition I am looking for my childrens family on their daddys side which would include, Lundy, Graham, Dew, Johnson, Singleton and Sarvis.
I truly enjoy Find a Grave and volunteering to do photos for others.

Dew Relatives
Thanks for writing back. I am interested in everything and anything :).

I guess the best thing would be to give you my direct lines so that you will have a basic foundation on where I fit in with your Dew research. Perhaps from this, you can figure out how I am related to your family.

My mother was Lucille Avant Tennant. (died from Congestive Heart Failure, due to complications of Primary Pulmonary Respiratory Hypertension)
Her father was William Lorenzo Avant. (Served in WW2)
His mother was Lucile Dew Avant. (Died young, while pregnant...from Pneumonia and Nephritis)
Her father was Allen John Dew. (Allen John Dew owned a large farm near Conway, Horry Co., South Carolina. Allen and Mary had eleven children.)
His father was Christopher Tobias Dew. (Married his cousin Elizabeth Ann Dew, daughter of John Allen Dew and Mary Cook Dew of Leake Co., Mississippi.)
His father was Wilson Dew. (Served as private in the 27th Regiment, Major Lovelace Gasque's Battalion, South Carolina, in the War of 1812.)
His father was Christopher Dew. (Made his home on the Pocosin Swamp where he died of a fall from a tree the same day his daughter Henrietta married Bryant Lane.)
His father was Abraham Dew Jr. (Bought 75 acres of land in Georgetown District on SW side of Little Pee Dee in 1789.)
His father was Abraham Dew
His father was John Dew III (Owned hundreds of acres of land in Bertie Co., NC)
His father was John (Esquire)Dew II (Owned large tracts of land on MeherrinRiver in NC.)
His father was John Dew I
His father was Thomas(Colonel)Dew (Speaker of the House of Burgesses)

Dew Relatives
I am related to your son's on the Dew side. My lines lead back through Allen Dew,who was the brother of Susan Adeline Dew Lundy. Would love to know if you would be willing to share any info on the family from these lines.
Thanks so much!

James Thomas Booth
James Thomas Booth and Clarkey Bessant Hux Booth had 13 children. Find A Grave says there were 11 children and lists 12. Omitted from the list is John Asbury Booth [April 28, 1865 - Feb. 16, 1872]. Probably named for his uncle who died in the Civil War. There were at least 3 John Asbury Booths and at least one Asberry Booth.

James Thomas Booth's mother was Olive Holmes. I am certain of this as I have been doing research for over 55 years, have information collected as early as 100 years ago (collected from people born as early as 1851), and have copies of the family records from the James Thomas Booth Bible. ALSO - on her tombstone at Poplar the name is Olive Holmes Booth (Jan. 16, 1812 - Feb 9, 1889, wife of John J. Booth). I think that perhaps Olive's name was Olive Magbee Holmes. Her mother was Sallie Singleton. Sallie's mother was Olive M ??? whose second husband was Samuel Magbee (Magby).

I have the original of the picture that is posted on Find A Grave. The dark mark at the upper right hand corner is my brother's finger (with shadow). We took the picture out of the frame to photo the original. That was before digital cameras - I have been giving away pictures for about 25 years.

If you posted the obituary - thank you. I had not gotten around to obtaining the OB.

When I get a chance I am working on Volume Two of the Booth Family. Would love any information that you may have - or any assistance you may give.
