Bio

I honor and thank Military Veterans by putting their Rank, Branch of Service, War Period and Medals awarded at the beginning of the bio section when known. I believe that info is part of his/her bio. I use the military rank prefix only for those who died in service or retired with 20 or more years of service. (https://www.formsofaddress.info/veterans_military/)

I will transfer memorials based on the Find A Grave guidelines. "Memorials are transferred for relatives with these close relationships: child, spouse/partner, sibling, parent, grandchild, great-grandchild, grandparent, great-grandparent, niece/nephew, great-niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, great-aunt/uncle, or first cousin. (No great, greats) This would include adoptive, step and in-law versions of these relationships." Other reasonable requests will be considered.

The Togus Medical Center, Togus Hospital, Togus Hospice, and Togus Springs are all in the town of Chelsea, Maine. (From Wikipedia: "Togus, formally known as the Togus VA Medical Center, is a facility operated by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs in Chelsea, Maine. The facility was built as a resort hotel, and housed Union veterans of the American Civil War prior to being converted to a veterans hospital. It was the first veterans facility developed by the United States government."

The enlistment/released dates on military memorials come from U.S., Department of Veterans Affairs BIRLS Death File, 1850-2010. A few months ago I noticed that often the 2nd set of enlistment dates are not shown. As of Jan 2023, I only list the information that can ;be supported elsewhere.
