I'm happy to make transfers. I need you to make your request using the “EDIT” tab on the memorial you wish transferred. That step saves time for me, as it gives me all the info I need in one place.|
After spending a few years researching my family tree, I found very little information available on burials. When I found this site, I decided to volunteer, thinking it may help someone else researching their families.
I live in Baker, LA now, born and raised in Baton Rouge, and spent 3 years in Central Michigan in the late 1960's.

Thanks for responding. Glad you and your husband are back in your house. We did not flood but several of our neighbors did. One of my sisters and her husband lost everything. They called for help but because their house is so far off the road they went unnoticed by the emergency rescue teams and all they could do was watch them leave as the water continued to rise. My father, who is over 80, actually rescued them with an airboat and went right up to their house and picked them up as they were standing on their elevated porch in waste high water. Likewise, one of my brothers also had over 4 feet of water in his house. He was actually pictured on the Weather Channel rescuing people with a boat in his neighborhood.
As far as John Kennedy goes, I believe you are correct and he is buried at Port Hudson. The advocate writers have made a lot of mistakes in their obituary notices over the years, especially prior to 1930. That is why I try to double check whenever I add memorials.
With all that has happened recently I pray you and your family has a very Merry Christmas!

Hope everything is going well for you. I heard that you flooded like many others in our area. Glad to see you back on this website!
I see you are now online. I am have been working on the archives for the Lutheran Cemetery for some time now as requested by Chip Landry. He and I both visited the cemetery earlier in the year and took some headstone pictures. As you know, most of the crypts/graves do not have markers in this cemetery. I just came across Mr. Kennedy's obit stating he was buried at the Lutheran Cemetery and double checked and saw there was another memorial (yours) for him at Port Hudson. I deleted mine. Thanks for adding his middle name. Do you know for certain that he is buried there? I ask because you usually get headstone pics with the memorials but not this time.
Thanks for all the work you have done at the Lutheran Cemetery. I have been going through the years (now in 1978) and have come across quite a few memorials that you have added.

You manage Rosemond's memorial. I was out in West Cemetery yesterday and was fulfilling requests. Noticed a few grave stones that pictures may not have been taken and Rosemond's is one of them. Just uploaded.

Thank you for the transfer of his memorial, though I am only "related" through marriage. I do appreciate the gesture.
I also appreciate all the work you do for FG and hope you have a great week.
