My interest in genealogy started back in the 1970s when I tried putting pieces together on my maternal grandmother and her family. I have since learned the Doyles came to San Francisco in 1853 by way of Australia (10 years there) from County Cork in Ireland, leaving in 1841. Since I can't do local research there, I want to help others here.

I've been the list mom of the CA death index mailing list at rootsweb.com. I created the mailing list in 2000 when the state closed the death index to genealogists. Since then I've collected online obituaries from the San Joaquin newspapers and adjacent counties hoping to help others in their research.

My interest in San Joaquin county is based on growing up in Lodi. I'm a 1966 graduate of Lodi High. My parents, grandparents and great grandparents on my father's side (Coe) are buried in Lodi Memorial Cemetery. While I can't take photos, I can help with vital record indexes and obituaries. And occasionally I can get to Lodi to do footwork.
