James Elmer Hill, b. 1856
Janet:

This is Krista Hill. Weve spoken before. My friend bought a photo at an antique mall in Hope. The pic says James Hill and was taken at Greensburg. Looks to be 1880s 90s. Do you have any photos of the man in the subject field?

Janet, Wendy here.
Can you connect to Mary Irene Ferguson, the 2 Blair children who are also buried in this same cemetery?
Shirley & Phyllis, I didn't get their #'s.

I wish I could get a birth record for those two, because I don't think they can be born 5 months apart so something wrong?
I have Phyllis' obit, can email me when you have time, been working on the lines again totally by accident.

Lucinda
Duh!! If I had looked deeper I could have figured that out. I just knew it didn't seem right for my Jonathan and Sarah. She actually is probably a niece or first cousin once removed of theirs though no real proof beyond Cowgers always living in the same areas moving west until her's went to Iowa. Not a common last name and a debate between two families as to who they belong and it changing in spelling. Back another generation or two.

Lucinda Cowger Braden
I was wondering what proof there is to put Lucinda as a child of Jonathan and Sarah (Birt) Cowger. They were married in Rush County, Indiana and moved to Jasper County, Illinois where they raised their family and are buried. They had 14 children of which 12 lived to adulthood. But I don't have a Lucinda here. I do know that another Cowger line from Rush County, Indiana did move to Iowa and would guess she actually belongs to them. The head of the family was probably a brother of Jonathan's but there is no proof to say absolutely. They did travel somewhat west together though the "brother" went further. So just wondering where this came from.
