Bio

We are Kristin and Sarah, a mother/daughter team, who have been doing genealogy for about 26 years. Most of our paternal side came from the Marathon County area, names being Zyduck, Bloom, Fierek, Orlikowski, Lewandowsi, Gusman, and Kopchinski. Most of our maternal side is from the Hartland area and Milwaukee, names being Mutter, Thon, Emmer and Seiler. Kristin's husband's side is in Iron County, Wi and Marquette Co. MI, Hannula, Suni, Nasi, Kerkela as well as other Finnish married names; and in the Milwaukee area, Garvan and Doncevic.

GenealogyGirls have been transcribing and photographing many of the Cemeteries in Western Racine County. We take a lot time to clean the stones and take good, clear pictures for our memorials.

Posting Memorials is great fun. Who doesn't love spending time in the solitude of a cemetery, but plz remember its not about "numbers". We should all have a common goal as FAG Members. Adding memorials is a wonderful way to preserve information in our cemeteries that could eventually be lost over time, along with good, clear pictures of headstones that will erode over time too. FAG is a great place to find more "free" information to piece together family trees. Plz take a few extra minutes to fill in extra information as dates and places of birth and death when adding a memorial.

Here are a some things to keep in mind.

Please understand that we have no control over the names, words and dates engraved on stones, written on death certificates or provided in obituaries. We didn't write them. We only providing those previously written words to you.

We have been an active contributors on this site for over 15 years, so it stands to reason that we have a fair number of memorials that we have entered, added to and lovingly care take even though they may not be a branch of our own family. It's quite possible that if we had not entered the memorial to begin with, you may not have been able to find them.

Individuals using this site need to realize that we are all volunteers and do not need to deal with abusive behavior or rudeness just because we won't make a transfer to someone who has registered two days or two months ago and want every memorial on the site with the surname of Jones. Or a transfer of a memorial of someone who they think just might be a fifth cousin, four times removed of their third ex-husband.

If you are new to this site, PLEASE read the "Frequently Asked Questions". If you take just a moment to familiarize yourself with these guidelines, it will definitely help yours and everyone else's state of mind, blood pressure and headaches. Just a hint, most people will not respond to your liking when bullying tactics are used.

If you will please use the "Edit" tab located on each memorial, we will be more than happy to correct, edit or add information to a memorial that is meaningful.

Please be kind. We all make mistakes from time to time. If we have made a mistake or created a duplicate memorial later than one you have created, please use the "Edit" tab and send us the correction or let us know of the duplication and it will be taken care of quickly.

We will make transfers using the "Guidelines" if they are not a relative of ours. We will transfer your children, siblings, parents, grandparents or great-grandparents. All other requested transfers will be considered if you use the "Edit" feature and state your relationship or intended need for the memorial.

Lastly and most importantly, there are so many absolutely wonderful people that use Find-A-Grave! We are very appreciative for all of the suggested corrections, additional information and photos that have been provided. Please don't allow the rude, abusive and sometimes rather bizarre behavior of individuals to curb your enthusiasm or your want to help others.

Let's make FAG an enjoyable place for everyone to play an visit.

Thank you for visiting our pages. If you have any input or suggestions, feel free to contact us.
