Bio and Links

I have been researching the Barnes, Lloyd, Nash, Rogers, Shoemakers, Stephens, Vaden, Vines, Williams, and others for over ten years. I love the concept and the work that has been done here.

I was born in Dante, Russell County, Virginia. As my family moved about, I have lived in Virginia, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas (a southern boy with southern heritage dating back to the early/mid 1700's.

I have been able to trace my wife's Vaden family back to D D Vaden born in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Although I have not found the link yet, I believe he is related to the Vaden's (Vodin, Vauden) that immigrated to the colonies in the mid 1600's. They migrated from Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, and other places before settling in Hunt, Lamar, Fannin, and Jones Counties in Texas in the mid to late 1800's.

I currently live in Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas. I would be willing to help with taking pictures of tombstones in the Lubbock area. I can also look into other areas in the Lubbock County.

If any errors are found in the data I have entered or if you would like to add additional information, please let me know. If you would like to have a memorial transferred to your ownership, please let me know.

RE: Marcell
Hi Charlie,

It was my pleasure to sponsor your step-mother, Marcell's, memorial.

My Mother, Iris Iwana Stovall Virgil, was born and raised in Warren, Arkansas. She and your step-mother were best friends growing up, along with Charlene.

They often visited by telephone and sometimes in person when my Mom could drive to Plano (not far from where we lived) and visit. It wasn't often enough for both of them, I'm sure.

Sadly, my Mom passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 9th, 2016. I miss her very much.

I hope all is well with you. God bless and wishing you a Merry Christmas.

Sincerely - Laura

RE: Eagles of Apperley
Have you seen my memorial for Daniel Browett, for whom Daniel Browett Harris is named? # 33293416.

# 121508 is for Daniel B. Harris - I have not done much with it.
Cheers, Shirleen

Eagles of Apperley
Nice to hear from you Charlie: I am a great great granddaughter of Hannah Maria Eagles, sister of Elias. My grandmother, Laura Maria Harris, was a daughter of Robert Harris's and Hannah Maria's son, Thomas Eagles Harris.

My biography for Elias Eagles was difficult to compile, as it is a combination of war records, census, and other official documents plus a bit of family lore and family histories from my grandmother, Laura.

I would love to know any more data you may have on any of this family.

You are welcome to use any or all of mine; that is why I love documenting history. It is good to add the author, for any future additions or even corrections. I try to get my facts as true as possible, but somethings are not easy to document and often others can really help the story. I also write poetry and always publish under my full name of Shirleen Craig Farley. Cheers!

Use of photos
Thank you so much for posting photos of the graves of the McKamy's. Do I have your permission to use these photos on my family tree on Wikitree?

Thank you for considering my request.

RE: Restland Cemetery
Thank you. I have not done research for a while, but was astounded that multiple people that I connected on findagrave are not longer there. I appreciate your help
