Bio

I have been an avid genealogist for almost as long as I can remember....it all started with a grade school family history project and never stopped! My ancestry is completely Azorean Portuguese with the majority of my family coming from Castelo Branco, Faial and Pedro Miguel, Faial. I had one great-grandmother from Santa Cruz, Flores. I have traced my Azorean lines back through to the beginning of the church records of the Azores and, in some cases, beyond that. Most of my family settled in Warm Springs, CA (now a part of the city of Fremont). Most of my family is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in the Mission San Jose area. My father's family moved to the Livermore area not long after the turn of the 20th century, so some of my people are buried in Livermore. After growing up in the Centerville area of Fremont, I moved to Tracy, CA with my parents, where they spent their last years. My maternal grandparents and parents are buried there. I have also traced my husband's family and am working on the families of the spouses of my children. I guess it never ends!

I happened upon Find A Grave just this week and think it is a wonderful way to keep the memory of so many of our families alive.....and not just names in a forgotten cemetery. Hopefully, as we all work together, this site will be a powerful genealogical source and also a wonderful memorial to the dear people who walked this world before us.
