Retired Air Force Master Sergeant. Just trying to help keep the memories and history alive. If I post any incorrect information please help me correct it.|
Anyone may use any of my photographs from Find A Grave, with proper attribution, for their own family research on sites other than Find A Grave.
On all transfer requests include your relationship to the deceased and use the edit button on the memorial page to make the request as this makes it easier to find the correct memorial to transfer.
Note the following excerpt from Find-A-Grave's FAQ on transfers under Editing and Correcting Memorial Information:
Please note that it is not appropriate to request a transfer and then, after receiving the transfer, delete that page and substitute it with a new memorial that you have created. This practice denies credit to the original contributor. Please use the original memorial page to make updates and add information.

Thanks for the photo of Mary's stone. I'm not a descendant or genealogist, but have studied Ebenezer's Civil War regiment for many years.
While the stone gives Mary's death year as 1895, Ebenezer said she died January 3, 1893. After being wounded in Missouri on November 24, 1862, and discharged four months later, he returned home, deserted his wife and children, started using his first name, and "married" Mary. After her death, he "married" again while his first, and only legal, wife was still living. He apparently had four children with his first wife and another thirteen or fourteen with Mary.
Thank you for taking a photo of Elizabeth Davis headstone. Take care, Karen
