I try to research my findagrave memorials and add maiden names to the married females. Extra information is gathered from death certificates and census records when time permits.
My genealogy research is on my SHEW, CALL, COMER & DAVIS families of NC and my husband's LANDERS, ROPER & HUME families.

I know there's some controversy over chalking. I go by the Association of Gravestone Studies recommendation that no chalk should be used. Check out their page of Do's and Don'ts here:
http://www.gravestonestudies.org/faq.htm#Some Gravestone Rubbings Dos and Don'ts. Check out http://www.ncgenweb.us/newhanover/cem1.html on their Aluminum Foil Method. It works really well!

|Monica Groce||Sarah Hunter Speer|
I am beginning to search my family tree and came across some information you had entered online. My Great Grandmother was Viola Speer Willard, one of the daughters of Sarah Hunter Speer and my Grandfather was John H. Willard, Sr., one of Viola's sons.
I am specifically looking for our link to the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians which I believe begins with Sarah Hunter Speer. If you have any information, even if it is just names I can research, I would appreciate it so much! My father, Mickey Steven Willard (born 7/9/1955) spent his early childhood on the reservation in Cherokee with relatives and I'd love to find out who they are. I am wanting to apply for tribal citizenship for myself and my children with the Cherokee Nation and this is much-needed information.
Thank you for any help you can give and thanks as well for keeping the history of my family alive.

RE: Rex Bradley Ellis @ Find A Grave Memorial# 119208082
Rex was my only sibling and brother. Rex died on Oct. 21, 2013 - Rex is now a Fallen Graver, and I wish to invite others to leave a memorial for him. Read about his life long contribution. Can you help me to get this out the gravers.
Also, you transferred a memorial to Rex that I would love to have of my father Lynn Eugene Ellis @ #39232524
Rex is graver; rex ellis (#47189176)
Hi Lynn, we are kin through the Davis side of our family. Nice to see you are carrying on the genealogy skill.
Love the photos!
William Rufus is my husbands great grand uncle. I was looking in Family Search and there is a marriage record for a Rufus McCall parents William and Nancy marring a Harrett Mcalister in 1919. Did Rufus have a third wife? Also do you know the heritage of this line of Call's?
DNA tests of my husband shows he has 94% DNA from Great Britain.
I would really appreciate any help.

Have been doing some research on family member Livinah "vina" Edwards and would very much like to use the tombstone picture of her daughter Christina Faye Johnson, who is married to Theodore Mercury Edwards. I have the large PATTERSON/BARRICK public tree and Bob Carter has editorship rights to my tree as we strive to make it as accurate as possible. I ALWAYS GIVE PROPER credit to whom performs the land survey and provides the picture to assist with the research of our family member and love for their history. Because yours appears to be copyrighted, I simply wanted to request your permission.
You are welcome for the photo, I have the original. You may use it if you need.
I have some others to place as well...when I locate them!
Are you related to this family? Lillie Martha was my grandmother!
I don't know which Davis family you research.
I left an old family photo on James Coleman Davis page
you might find interesting
