RE: Long family
Thank you so much Judy for all the great info. One more question if you don't mind please? Who was Henry Long's parents? I have info on a Henry Long being in Sevier County Tennessee in the early 1800s. I have a church list w/all of the members, and it has a Henry Long and wife as being members, but I haven't made a connection of our Long's to this Henry.

Long family
Judy, would you have any information on James Long? I'm a Long family member and we have a James Long, who married a Sarah, looking to see if this might be our James? Any help would be appreciated.

RE: John Jeffrey
Well, Brooke WV and Washington PA are the two places I've known my gg grandfather to live! I think it probably is the same family. How do you relate to them?

That's interesting, and Buffalo twp is definitely in that part of western Washington county where my grandmother's family was from. And I just found this -- do a "find" on "Benjamin Jeffrey". He and Jane Graham are shown as the parents of my John Jeffrey, who died in Island Creek:

RE: John Jeffrey
Hi Judy,

I have seen other trees that indicate Benjamin Jeffrey and Jane Graham were the parents of my gg grandfather John Jeffrey, but I have never seen any proof of that. However, the name "Graham" does appear in my family in the Jeffrey line, as a first or a middle name, so it may be true.

Here is the obit on my gg grandfather. Does it sound like he could have been the son of Benjamin Jeffrey and Jane Graham?

RE: Gottman
Mary (Mollie) Stephenson Moffit is a sister to Elizabeth Stephenson Gottman, with whom I descend from. In the 1900 census, you find Mollie, her husband Frank Moffit and their children, along with boarders and the very last person in the household or the very next household (the enumerator really missed up on the household numbers) is Alice Stephenson who is listed as the Help, living in Argentine Twp, Wyandotte, Kansas. Alice is Elizabeth Stephenson Gottman. I'm not sure why she is listed as the Help, instead of sister in law though. If you have anymore questions, you can ask here or can email me, whichever you prefer.
