*Current Project in Nashville TN.* Gower Cemetery, established 1816. We are a group of descendants, kin and friends restoring and preserving the Gower Cemetery. This family was one of the first settlers in Nashville, arriving 1779-1780 on the Col John Donelson Flotilla.

Clearing, archaeological restoration and much research for this cemetery, family and history has been done. 125 burials have been located by Archaeologist, Dan Sumner Allen IV, and 13 tombstones restored. We are now maintaining the Gower Cemetery and are part of the Metro Nashville Historical Commission's new program, MHC Historic Cemetery Maintenance Plan.

Family names include Gower, Gatlin, Lucas, Robertson, Sullivan, Woodward, etc. Also buried inside the original area of this cemetery are are 6 enslaved African Americans with documentation. Their names are Rachael, Isaac, Louis, Mandy, Phoebe and Tom Woodward.
